Our little pup is 2!!

Tibs got to celebrate with a new toy especially picked out for him by Damian and a dog bone the size of him.
I got to celebrate by putting a hat on his head.
He’s a trooper, but the hat didn’t last long…
The weather outside has been wonderful recently so this morning while cleaning up the kitchen I left the door open. Damian loves sitting and looking out the back door so having it open was twice as fun, especially now that there are prickly balls on the deck (I realize they probably have an official name, however I don’t know what that is…) Anyway, he was so cute investigating them that I grabbed the camera to take some pictures. After getting this series, I can’t help but think this is sorta how the conversation between Damian and Tibi went down.
D: “Hmmmm… what are these??”
D: “Wow! These are sooo cool! I need to tell Tibi about them.”
D: “TIBI!! COME HERE!”
T: “I was right behind you, what do you want??”
D: “Oh! Ok so do you want to know a secret??”
T: “Sure!”
D: “These prickly balls make GREAT moustache brushes!!!”
T: “Ugh! No they don’t. Give me that!”
D: “NEVER!!! BAHAHA”
T: *rolls eyes*
D: “Fine, you can have it! Mommy says I have to share more…”
T: “Thanks mom!!!!”
Tibi and Damian started off with a bit of a rocky relationship. Let’s just say Tibi was not too pleased to be de-throned as cutest only baby in the house… However, as time has gone by, Tibi has moved from a jealousy-crazed animal to realizing that babies come with some really fun toys to destroy to, finally, loving and protective. (Although he still hoards a sock or two.) I never thought there’d be the day that Tibi would act as if he liked Damian, but he’s become really good with him recently. We went through a spell where Damian had zero interest in Tibi, which I think was good for the pup to just adjust to the newly mobile Damian. Also, I don’t think the fact that Tibi has somehow trained Damian to always share 30% of his cheerios with him is hurting their relationship either. As Damian becomes more interested in Tibi, I’ve taught him what it means when I say “Pet Tibi” and he thinks it’s a lot of fun. Unfortunately for Tibs, “petting” translates into “use Tibi as a bongo drum” to Damian. We’re now working on “Pet Tibi gently…” (I probably should have seen that coming.) But Tibs just takes it, and I love seeing the possibility of them being good friends growing.
Something they share in common, other than throwing and chasing balls, is a love of looking out the window. Now that I feel pretty confident that Tibi isn’t going to push Damian off the chair in a jealous rage, I was able to step back to take a picture or two.
Aren’t they just the perfect pair? A boy and his dog.
This will be the most boring post ever because we spent the weekend house sitting/ dog sitting. Tibi had the time of his life but Nate and I are exhausted.
3 dogs + 2 people + 1 bed = very little sleep. Lesson learned! 
Now off to an early bedtime!

This is a horrible photo from a technical standpoint. It could have been so cute too… Tibi’s eyes somehow managed to lure the camera’s focus on him.
However, this pretty much sums up life with the Tibbers right now–Damian doing something cute and him in the background begging for attention too.
