Damian Does Disney

I have a confession.

I love Disney.
One of the first things I thought about when we had Damian was we now have an “excuse” to go to Disney more! So needless to say, I could barely contain myself about this trip. Damian is still a bit too little to really appreciate it (which I guess is why he’s still free) but I think he enjoyed taking it all in.

We stayed at the Port Orleans Resort where Damian got his first taste of Mickey waffles.
YumYum!

On Saturday, we took the river boat to Downtown Disney. Damian thought it was the best thing ever and kept trying to throw himself overboard to touch the water. In fact most of the transportation we took was the “best thing ever” with him- boats, buses, trains, monorail….

I’m thinking this is going to be my new look.
After the marathon on Sunday we did Epcot.
Everything is better upside down.

Before going to the Magic Kingdom we went to the Animal Kingdom Lodge to have breakfast (which was DELICIOUS and I definitely recommend if you’re going to be in Disney World anytime soon.)

Damian got to watch a drum “circle” and was in awe.

We got to see some of the Christmas decorations which were still up in most of the parks.

Damian got to go on a few rides, and I think he enjoyed them for the most part. He was mostly just confused looking during them, like “Why are we moving in this thing?”
We did go on the Winnie the Pooh ride which he got really excited about. Of course.

Still can’t decide who he looks like….

We ended the night with the fireworks show.
When you wish upon a star…….

We left on Tuesday and it was too soon. I think if we go next year we’ll try to stay longer.

Damian did really well on the trip. We flew so I was nervous about the plane ride, but he was a trooper. I was well stocked with snacks and Dinosaur Train episodes on my phone and that helped. (If you’ve never heard of Dinosaur Train, you’re missing out ;-) It’s a PBS show about dinosaurs that ride on a train… Nate gets upset about the historical inaccuracies, but I tell him if Damian likes it that’s all that matters.) While we were in Disney, he got to stay up way past his bedtime. It’d be 9 o’clock and he’d be bouncing on the bed with us. Clearly he loves Disney too!  I was interested to see how he would do once we got home. The first few days he took super long naps and went to bed early and slept in, so I guess he was really worn out from the trip. However, he’s now back on his normal schedule. I really enjoyed those 3 hour naps…

I’ve recovered for the most part from the marathon. After getting home, I started going back in to work Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and that’s what I’m still trying to recover from. It’s been a lot harder than I thought. I’m also in the midst of party planning which has been a lot of fun! Can you say craft overload?? I still can’t believe our boy is turning 1!!
